I give this movie 4 and ½ out of 5 stars!
****
We discovered a great family movie the other day: Hoodwinked, starring the voice talents of Glenn Close, Anne Hathaway, James Belushi, Patrick Warburton (aka: Puddy from Seinfeld), and Andy Dick.
For those of you who are Fletch fans (you know who you are), you'll love this kid-size version via The Little Red Riding Hood and The Wolf, who happens to be a Lakers fan and master of disguises.
While there's grown-up humor a-plenty, Hoodwinked is clean and kid-friendly -- my three kiddos love it. It is (refreshingly) bathroom humor-free, sexual innuendo-free, and Eddie Murphey-free (but that's being a little redundant). Focus on the Family even recommends it.
It's cool when Hollywood steps out of character and creates something that's just plain fun. To show my appreciation, I'll probably go out and buy it, because as they say . . . . money talks. In this movie, so do animals, insects, and birds.

Jenn, I'm so glad you posted this! I'll definitely take the kids to see
this movie. Sounds like a kids' movie I don't have to dread.
(Thanks for stopping by Brian's blog, too. Guess who writes it!!)
Wonderful movie!! I beg to differ on the Eddie Murphey point. Haven't you
seen Mulan? Thanks so much for listening to my rants this morning. It
helps to talk to someone who understands "First time writers anxiety".
Love the blog. I'll put it in my favorites.
Jenn, we went to see "Over the Hedge" for my 7-yr-old's birthday today and
the kids loved it. Very cute movie and some good lessons, too.
