I think I'm getting old. I attended the Newsboys concert Sunday night with some of my girlfriends - and we brought ear plugs.
But not for the Newsboys, rather for the young Christian boy band who opened for them. While purple-haired teens screamed in adoration for Stellar Kart, we thirty-somethings happily squished orange rubber in our ears until the seasoned musicians took the stage.
And wowie wow wow (I can't help it, I'm a Junie B. Jones fan til the bitter end) - it was . . . . awesome! Peter, Duncan, Jeff, and Paul put on an amazing show, complete with monstrous television monitors, catwalk, and (spoilier warning!) a rotating drummer platform.
What I loved best about the concert was the focus: Christ. Lead singer, Peter, does a fabulous job at keeping Spiritual integrity in his concerts. He brings fun, funky, and faith to every performance.
If you have a chance, get to one of the Newboys concerts. You can bring your earplugs if you want. Just put 'em away when the Big Boys come out to play.
Jenn, I haven't been to the Newsboys yet but I really want to! My hubbie &
I have found that Christian concerts are something we both really enjoy and
we try to go when we can. It's romantic and keeps us connected and having
fun together! Last year we saw Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns,
David Crowder and Third Day. We loved them all.
